Resources the General Board of Discipleship provides through Young Peoples Ministry to support youth ministries in local churches.

There are several resources that the General Board of Discipleship provides through Young Peoples Ministry to support youth ministries in local churches. Below, you will find links that will give you detailed information about these programs.

The deadline for YPM’s Grants and Scholarships is June 1st.

All of the details can be found on http://globalyoungpeople.org/. Here is a short version for now.

Scholarships:
The Self and Smith scholarships are for US students entering their first year of undergraduate study,
and the Smith is designated for racial/ethnic minority youth. They have the same application form, and
here’s the link
(http://www.gbod.org/atf/cf/%7B3482e846-598f-460a-b9a7-386734470eda%7D/SMITH%20self%20scholarship%20application.pdf).

International Scholarships are for United Methodist International students attending a university
within their country. The application is available in English, Portuguese, Russian, French and German,
and here’s where you can find those (http://globalyoungpeople.org/grants-scholarship/international-scholarship/)

Grants (Both grants are for, by, and with young people, and they can be for new or existing ministries):

Grants for Ministries with Young People supports United Methodist youth and young adults with
creative and innovative ministry ideas. There’s a US application and one for Central Conferences found
here (http://globalyoungpeople.org/grants-scholarship/grants-for-ministries/).

Youth Service Fund has grants available to any organization that includes youth (ages 12-18 in
the states and 12-30 internationally) in every aspect of its ministry. Check out YSF’s website (http://ysf.globalyoungpeople.org/) or Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/YSF.UMC) for
some fun details, pictures, applications, etc.
