The Black Staff Association of the United Methodist Church is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to serving the needs of black staff serving The United Methodist Church in staff positions with UMC boards, agencies, conferences, jurisdictions, and districts. BSA will work collaboratively with all segments of The United Methodist Church in order to strengthen relationships that help to equip staff to more effectively network, empower and engage missional in our communities as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our global world.

GCFA Job Opening: Travel and Meeting Planner

GENERAL COUNCIL ON FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
Job Title: Travel and Meeting Planner

Primary Role(s):
• Serve as planner/organizer for meetings for GCFA and other general agencies
• Act as liaison and coordinate travel, meeting and special events as serve as a point of contact for travel inquiries to ensure updates are communicated appropriately
• Build and maintain event databases including web registration for multiple geographic locations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Provide customer support and respond to internal and external inquiries, providing a level of service that is aligned with UMC’s mission, vision and values
b. Interact with staff at all levels and assist with department functions relating to GCFA and other General Agencies and associated organizations
c. Assist with RFPs, bidding projects, meeting logistics, including pre and post event billing
d. Work collaboratively with teammates and backup co-workers as needed
e. Assist with the brainstorming of content and designing for travel and meeting marketing materials

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and CMP Certification required
• Must be detail oriented and organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Two (2) to three (3) years of travel planning or related experience
• International travel planning experience is a plus
• UMC Member is preferred
