BSA

The Black Staff Association of the United Methodist Church is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to serving the needs of black staff serving The United Methodist Church in staff positions with UMC boards, agencies, conferences, jurisdictions, and districts. BSA will work collaboratively with all segments of The United Methodist Church in order to strengthen relationships that help to equip staff to more effectively network, empower and engage missional in our communities as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our global world.

GENERAL COUNCIL ON FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Job Title: Database Analyst  

 

Primary Role(s)

  • Provide Technical Support within GCFA
  • Participate in Data Services Special Projects
  • Serve as point of contact for Data Collections
  • Engage is developing and Processing Reports
  • Develop and Implement systems, processes and protocols
  • Provide support to general agency and annual conference staff with data mapping

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. SQL scripting and report writing to ensure data integrity within functional areas
  2. Respond to customer inquiries, providing customer service that is aligned with UMC’s mission, vision and values
  3. Perform routine data mapping through the utilization of various sources to SQL data bases
  4. Provide assistance with Centerprise and other related systems with issues that staff may experience within UMC entities
  5. Actively engage in problem solving and inter-departmental application support
  6. Analyze business processes to determine a means to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  7. Interact with staff at all levels and possess the ability to persuade and influence

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with T-SQL on a SQL Server
  • Knowledge of data analysis, statistics, queries, data mapping and mining required
  • Must be detail oriented and organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
